About Henry Street Settlement
Arlo has partnered with the Henry Street Settlement for 5 years now to create opportunity for Lower East Side residents and other New Yorkers through social services, arts, and healthcare programs.
Serving Our Seniors
This is a monthly program where Arlo team members help coordinate and facilitate dinner gatherings for seniors in the community. It’s been a fun way for our team to engage, play bingo with them and provide a great evening for a cause.
This is a quarterly program where Arlo would provide students of Henry Street internships at our hotels. This program consisted of an 8-week learning period where the students would work in Front Office and Housekeeping to gain skills within the hospitality industry. There have been hires from this program and we look forward to teaching and grooming more students in the coming years!
Annual HR & Resume Reviews
This is a program where Arlo Hotel’s People Services attend sessions to review resumes with job searchers and talk about how to prepare for an interview in the hospitality industry. We also offer advice about the industry in general.
About New York Cares
New York Cares is a nonprofit organization focused on volunteer management and was founded in 1987 by a group of New Yorkers who wanted to take action against social issues in New York City. The organization currently engages 65,000 volunteers in service each year.
New York Cares for Schools
This is an annual volunteer program where Arlo was allocated to a school within the community to refurbish for the day. Arlo has gratefully been a part of this program for four years and have been hands-on to clean up old music rooms, refresh painted hallways, exterior walls, and fences.
For the past 3 years, Arlo has participated in this annual drive in which donations of winter coats are collected for those in need during the cold winter months. The drive is roughly 2 weeks long, and each of our New York City hotel properties happily band together to collect as many coats as possible. Once donations are collected they are dropped off to New York Cares.

As explorers, we appreciate the beauty of travel and global ecosystems. Our team carefully curates events, festivals and ocean clean-ups that give back to charitable partners working tirelessly to keep our world clean.
We’ve devoted a portion of all restaurant menus to plant-based options, catering to health-conscious travelers while also reducing our direct impact on carbon emissions, water use and waste byproducts produced by the animal-based foods industry. Our culinary teams flex their expertise and creativity in delivering savory, hearty plant-based dishes that help keep our world a greener place.
